Korean International Scholastic Press Association (KISPA) is a network connecting student-run publications across South Korea.
Student publishing has long operated in isolation. Each publication works hard within its own school, but rarely in conversation with the others. KISPA is here to change that.
Whether your school has a well-established newspaper, a literary magazine, or a newly founded publication finding its footing, KISPA offers a space to collaborate and share resources.
Initiatives
📚 KISPA Drive
The KISPA Drive is a shared collection of resources maintained by Member Publications.
It includes editorial guides, templates, advice, and other materials designed to help student publications improve their work and make the process of running a publication easier.
🗄️ KISPA Archive
Student journalism should not disappear when a graduating class leaves or a publication stops operating. Many of us, including the founder, experienced this loss of institution first hand.
This need not be the norm, however. The KISPA Archive is a centralized backup intended to preserve the work of Member Publications and keep it accessible even in the worst case scenario.
🏆 KISPA Awards
The KISPA Awards recognize outstanding student journalism from Member Publications.
Awards will be held quarterly, giving participating publications an opportunity to highlight exceptional reporting, writing, photography, design, and other forms of student media. Award recipients will be selected by a majority vote of participating representatives.
Sharing Stories Across Schools
One of KISPA’s central goals is to make it easier for student voice to spread beyond the school walls, transforming a local impact to a national one.
Through our republishing system, Member Publications can share articles with one another while maintaining clear credit to the original author and publication. Each publication chooses whether its work may be republished without explicit permission or whether permission must be obtained first.
And for students who want to write outside their school’s ecosystem entirely, this website serves as KISPA’s own independent publication, open to contribution from every member school. Every article here are free to be republished by anyone!
Member publications will also be encouraged to reference or cross-link (if published online) to each other’s articles.
